Our own restored Nicholson house will be open for day of tour ticket sales, refreshments and a fabulous display of Cowan Pottery. You'll learn the history of Lakewood's own American Art Pottery from the students of the 2/3 Grade Discovery Class at Grant Elementary School. The students worked with society Executive Director Mazie Adams to research, write and edit a documentary on Cowan Pottery which will show throughout the day. Carol Jacobs, Curator of the Cowan Pottery Museum in Rocky River, will also be on hand with a special exhibit on R. Guy Cowan and his world-famous pottery company. Cowan experts Mark Bassett and Victoria Naumann Peltz will be signing copies of their definitive book, Cowan Pottery and the Cleveland School. The bookwill be available for puchase. Mike Skordelis of the Shop on Madison will also be on hand with Cowan pieces and other art pottery for sale.
